Folk tongue training workshop to be held at HCC

The Uttarakhand Culture department will organise a folk dialect training workshop in the month of August at the Himalayan Cultural Centre (HCC). The director of UCC Beena Bhatt informed that to promote and teach the Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari languages, dialect training workshops will be organised from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM on every Saturday and Sunday during August at HCC. She said that the people who desire to participate in the workshop can register themselves by July 31.
The form of registration will be given at the department office in Dalanwala. Apart from this, she said that no fee will be charged from the candidates who are willing to participate in the training workshop. She stated that HCC is the first cultural centre in the State which will continue to present a live picture of the rich cultural heritage while also working towards passing on the cultural heritage to future generations.
Bhatt further informed that with the coordination of the team, Harela will also be celebrated at the HCC on July 17. Many officials and work self-governing organisation will be part of the celebration. Tree plantation and rendition of folk songs will be the main element in the Harela festivity, she added.
