The Vice President of Uttarakhand unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) , Deepak Bali has said that the state government should follow the steps taken by the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi for providing financial help to the Covid- 19 affected families. The Delhi CM had recently announced ten kg free ration to all families, Rs 50000 compensation per family on death from Covid , Rs 2500 pension and Rs 2500 per month till 25 years for children rendered orphan by pandemic. The Delhi government has also announced that it would pay Rs 5000 to labourers and auto rickshaw drivers.
Bali questioned that if the AAP government of Delhi can take these steps to provide some succour to people reeling under the disease then why the BJP government of Uttarakhand cannot adopt such measures? He said that the state government should come out with a relief package and waive off electricity bills of all families.
