The State’s Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar has appealed to the citizens to play eco-friendly Holi while maintaining peace on the day of the festival. Kumar wished a happy Holi to the citizens on Wednesday and also appealed to them to not violate the laws as that may also cause harm to them or others. He asked people to avoid the consumption of intoxicants on Holi and avoid violations like riding two wheelers without a helmet or tripling on bikes. He also appealed to people to not indulge in an altercation on Holi, especially after the consumption of alcohol. He said, “I advise people to celebrate Holi or apply colours on only those who actually want to play Holi. Do not apply colours forcibly. Also, use eco-friendly colours that are not harsh to people and the environment.” The DGP said that the police will stay vigilant on Holi and appealed to the people to not violate laws and celebrate the festival peacefully.
