Food & Civil Supply department to soon provide salt to ration card holders: Arya

The Food and Civil Supplies minister Rekha Arya informed stated that the Food and Civil Supply department will soon provide salt to ration card holders at a reduced rate to assist low-income families. Arya said that the department in the State provides various essential schemes for the benefit of poor ration card holders, like the free ration scheme. Additionally, the government plans to introduce another beneficial scheme for Antyodaya and primary families. Arya said that the Food and Civil Supply department plays a crucial role in supporting poor ration card holders by providing essential items like wheat and rice and with the upcoming initiative it will also provide one kilogramme of iodised salt per month at subsidised rates to Antyodaya and primary families. She said that the iodised salt is a potentially beneficial resource for the economically disadvantaged families for addressing malnutrition. She further informed that a government directive for the provision of one kilogramme of salt will be soon launched under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
