For better Kumbh funds, Harish Rawat to meditate on the Ganga bank today
The former chief minister and general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Harish Rawat would meditate on the banks of Ganga in Haridwar on Thursday in support of his demand for adequate funds for the upcoming Kumbh fair. He would hold the meditation from 2 pm to 3 pm at Kisan Ghat and later offer prayers at Har Ki Paidi. Rawat said that he would offer prayers and request goddess Ganga that good sense prevails on the state government of Uttarakhand and Union government so that allocation of adequate funds is made for Kumbh- 2021.
He said that very less budget is allotted for Haridwar Kumbh as compared to that of those held at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh and Ujjan (MP). Interestingly the Congress leader added that the programme is purely personal and requested his supporters in the Congress party to keep away from the event.
