In a development which would give a fillip to the electoral prospects of the Congress party in Haridwar district former cabinet minister and farmer leader Sahib Singh Saini joined the Congress party on Tuesday. He took the membership of the party along with his supporters in presence of the former chief minister Harish Rawat, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal and other leaders at Congress Bhawan on the day.
Speaking on the occasion Saini said that the Congress is the only party which respects every religion and section of the society.
Welcoming Saini in the party, Harish Rawat said that the BJP in rule in Uttarakhand has only given price rise, corruption to the people of the state in the last five years.
PCC President Godiyal said that Saini is a born leader and the party would get strengthened by his presence.
