The Bharatiya Janata Party launched its Sangathan Parv in Uttarakhand with chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami renewing his membership of the party on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Dhami said that all the party workers should do their best to achieve the target of registering 10 crore members in “the world’s largest and most democratic political party”.

The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt inaugurated the programme held to mark the occasion at the party’s State office. Dhami renewed his primary membership via a missed call. Dhami claimed that he felt pride in being a member of the BJP. Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had executed historic and courageous decisions, he said that all the party workers should work to maximise the new members and make the party stronger. “There is no place for nepotism, casteism, communalism or regionalism in the BJP. We respect the activists who stand up for the nation and society,” he said.

Paying homage to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the CM said that his decisions honoured the sentiments of the State’s people for a better future. He also played a vital role in making India a nuclear power, Dhami said.

The BJP State president said that the party must reach every person in the State to request him or her to become a primary member of BJP. He said, “We have to ensure that all know about the ideology of the party and the works of the government. All should contribute to this membership campaign. We should reach all those sections and spheres where we have not reached yet. The party workers and people of Uttarakhand are motivated. The eight MPs, all MLAs, other public representatives and office bearers of the party will launch this campaign in the 19 organisational districts of the BJP on Wednesday. We will also connect with the public through all social service and sanitation related programmes of the party in this duration,” the BJP State chief said.
