Four deaths, 3,295 new Covid cases reported in U’khand

The upward surge in the number of Covid-19 cases has continued in Uttarakhand. After 2,682 cases on Sunday the state health department reported 3,295 fresh cases of the disease on Monday. The disease is also showing signs of increased fatality as four deaths from it were reported from different parts of the state.
The numbers of active cases of the disease have now increased to 18,196 in the state. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,73,249 while a total of 3,39,932 patients have recovered from the disease so far. A total of 7,444 people have died in the state so far from Covid-19. The recovery percentage from the disease is 91.07.
Death of one patient each was reported from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Himalayan Hospital Jolly Grant, Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun and Sushila Tiawari government hospital Haldwani on Monday.
The state health department reported 987 new patients from Dehradun, 568 from Udham Singh Nagar, 546 from Nainital, 352 from Haridwar, 289 from Pauri, 137 from Chamoli, 111 from Almora, 65 from Tehri, 60 from Pithoragarh, 53 from Rudraprayag, 45 from Champawat, 43 from Uttarkashi and 39 from Bageshwar on Monday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state has now jumped to 18,196. Dehradun with 7,730 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital has 2,629 active cases of the disease which is followed by Haridwar district with 2534 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 123 active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 41,044 people were vaccinated in 1,207 sessions in the state held on Monday.
