Four dengue cases in Dehradun so far

The number of dengue cases in the provisional State capital has increased to four. The Dehradun chief medical officer Dr Sanjay Jain reported that in September, four cases of dengue have been confirmed till now. Currently, two active cases are being treated at the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC).
Notably, the Health department has been on high alert since July 1, with ASHA workers conducting an awareness campaign to educate people on prevention methods and inspecting households for larvae. About 550 ASHA workers are involved in this initiative, visiting 40 to 50 houses daily. Additionally, 100 volunteers in Dehradun and 40 in Rishikesh have been assigned to increase dengue prevention awareness in their respective wards. Currently, 9,30,420 houses have been inspected by ASHA workers and volunteers under the dengue prevention campaign. Additionally, during the inspection 4160183 containers were searched out of which 50,831 containers were suspected positive for dengue larvae.
