Four hill dists get CM’s nod for rehabillitation work
In the backdrop of Chamoli disaster, Uttarakhand government today gave a nod for rehabilitating affected families in disaster torn four hill districts of the state – Tehri, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Uttarkashi. Appropriate funds have also been sanctioned for the purpose.
As per the proposal sent to the government by disaster management department, in Tehri district, four affected families of village Bethan will be rehabilitated as per the rehabilitation policy. A proposal to this effect was approved in the State Level Rehabilitation Committee meeting chaired by chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. The chief minister recommended Rs 17 lakh, which will be utilized in the construction of house, cowshed and the payment of rehabilitation amount to these affected. Two out of the four families were presently living in a common house but post rehabilitation, they will get separate houses.
Similarly, in disaster vulnerable village Malladesh falling in Kapkot Tehsil of Bageshwar district in the Kumaon region, Chief minister approved proposal to rehabilitate four families. These families had faced the brunt of the devastating rains in Kapkot in the year 2018.
As many as twelve families of Faldiya village in Tharali tehsil of disaster torn Chamoli district will be rehabilitated and for this Rs 51 lakhs were sanctioned for the purpose. Under this, four lakh for house construction, 15 thousand for cowshed and Rs 10 thousand as rehabilitation allowance will be utilized. Further, the affected families of village Jingoda in Tehsil Gairsain in Chamoli district will also be rehabilitated.
In Uttarkashi district, 30 families of the vulnerable village of Astal falling in tehsil Dunda will also be rehabilitated. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat sanctioned Rs 1 crore 25 lakh10 thousand for the purpose. Every family will get Rs 4 lakh for house construction, Rs 15 thousand for construction of cowshed and Rs 10 thousand as rehabilitation amount.
