Four new cases of dengue reported in Dehradun

The menace of dengue is increasing in the provisional capital of the State, Dehradun. The health department reported four new cases of the disease in the district on Wednesday.
The district vector-borne diseases officer of Dehradun, Subhash Joshi said that two patients of the disease were reported from Chandra Shekhar Nagar area of Rishikesh while one patient each was found from Rispana Nagar and Herbertpur area of the district on Wednesday. He further informed that a total of 16 patients of dengue have so far been detected in Dehradun this season. He claimed that the health of all these patients is stable and they are recovering from the disease.
Joshi said that anti-dengue activities are in full swing in the affected and the sensitive areas of the district. He added that the department has undertaken source reduction activity on a large scale in the city. Joshi said that the anti-dengue activities are being done in coordination with Asha workers and Municipal Corporation and fogging is being done in the affected areas.
He added that Apart from source reduction exercises the health department has also undertaken an awareness drive in which people have explained the ways to prevent the menace of the vector-borne disease.
The State health department reported seven new cases of dengue in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. In Dehradun, four cases of the disease were reported while three cases surfaced in the Haridwar district. The department has so far reported 41 cases of the disease from the state in this season. Pauri has so far reported 19 cases while 16 cases have been found in Dehradun.
