Four shopkeepers booked for selling duplicate products

The Srinagar police in Pauri district have registered cases against four shopkeepers of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Marg in Srinagar for sale of counterfeit goods in the name of Hindustan Unilever Limited company.The police said that after registration of case, necessary action is being taken.       

According to the police, Vipin Nagar, a resident of Lajpatnagar, New Delhi and Prabhat Kumar, a resident of Mayur Vihar, New Delhi lodged first information report in Srinagar police Kotwali on Thursday.The report stated that the shopkeepers of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Marg are selling the counterfeit goods of the Lakme and Elle 18 brands. The police registered four cases against Parvesh, Abdul Hannan, Farman and Sate Singh under section 63 of the Copyright Act 1957. The police said that necessary action will be taken.                                     

Locals opine that the sale of counterfeit goods of branded companies has become a common thing and the bussinessmen take advantage of customers in absence of stringent checks and enforcement.
