The Mussoorie Senior Citizen Welfare Association and the Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre organised a free medical consultation camp in Mussoorie on Sunday. Padma Shri recipient orthopaedic surgeon Dr BKS Sanjay, Dr Gaurav Sanjay and gynaecologist Dr Sujata Sanjay administered free medical checkups to the citizens who visited the camp. Mussoorie Senior Citizen Welfare Association head, retired IAS officer Anand S Khullar, secretary NK Sahani and others were also present on the occasion.
The organisers of the camp said that healthy people build a healthy society and such health camps should be held to provide medical services to those in need. They further informed that more than 80 persons visited the camp and sought checks and consultation for orthopaedic and gynaecological issues. In addition to free check up and consultation, the people visiting the camp were also provided with free medicines and free BMD tests.
Dr BKS Sanjay said that in the past 14 years, his hospital has held more than 300 such free medical health camps in various parts of the State and other locations. Appreciating the doctors who provided their services in the camp, Khullar said that most government and private institutions should provide such facilities for free to ensure that the maximum number of people benefit from their services.
