To mark Uttarakhand State Foundation Day, Sanjay Orthopedic, Spine and Maternity Centre, Jakhan hosted a free health camp on Thursday. While examining the patients, the Padma Shri awardee senior orthopedic surgeon Dr B K S Sanjay said that due to geographical reasons, cases of back pain and joint pain are found more in the hills than in its plain areas of the State. He stressed on changes to be made in eating habits and daily routine to keep such ailments at bay. He further said that to keep away from diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol, one should develop the habit of eating coarse grains.
During the camp, orthopedic surgeon Dr Gaurav Sanjay, who is also the joint secretary of Dehradun Orthopedic Society, said that people should eat balanced and nutritious diet, exercise regularly, work diligently and take eight hours of sound sleep to remain healthy.
Gynecologist, who was honoured by the President of India, Dr Sujata Sanjay conducted free tests and said that the mother power having proved instrumental in the creation of Uttarakhand State, the mothers should take adequate care of their health. She said that the pregnant women, in particular, should pay more attention to their diet and exercise, adding that the newborn babies should be breastfed and the older children should be kept away from fast food.
