To facilitate free ration from July 2021 to November 2021 in addition to NFSA under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) in all states, Uttarakhand has been allotted 92,910 metric tonnes of wheat and 61,940 metric tonnes of rice from the DCP stock through the Food Corporation of India and state government. This is being allotted to the intended beneficiaries free of cost on a daily basis. It is pertinent to mention here that considering the Covid-19 pandemic, this is the fourth stage of PMGKAY which has been started in the interests of poor families. A total of 1,54,850 metric tonnes of foodgrains are being distributed free in this phase of this scheme. Every eligible beneficiary can take the benefit of this scheme of the government of India, said FCI officials.
