The Forest Research Institute will open for visitors from September 1 with observance of Covid-19 protocols in pursuance of guidelines issued by the State government on August 16. According to the institute officials, only 100 visitors will be allowed to visit FRI per day from 9 AM to 5 PM considering Covid-19. Only those visitors who have registered online will be allowed to enter the campus. All interested visitors can make their registration on the website of the institute fri.icfre.gov.in and make the payment at the gate, said the officials.
It should be mentioned here that apart from the lush green campus and the imposing building constructed in the Greco-Roman style, the institute also houses museums and other features unique from the botanical perspective. These attract a number of visitors to the institute who will now be allowed to enter the campus from next month.
