At the Government B D Pandey District Hospital, the members of the Khampa family distributed fruits among the patients to commemorate their spiritual leader Dalai Lama being presented with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. They also prayed for the speedy recovery of all the patients admitted at the hospital.
The head of the Khampa family, Anand Singh Khampa led the family in the fruit distribution programme. The staff members, including the matron, participated. Khampa said that they had been elated when the Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. “He is our paramount leader. So we are celebrating the anniversary by distributing fruits among the patients,” he added.
