In latest Uttarakhand news, the helicopter service ferrying pilgrims to Kedarnath shrine will remain suspended for five days from September 7 due to the G-20 Summit to be held in Delhi. Informing this, the inspector general of police Garhwal Karan Singh Nagnyal said that all the choppers that operate for the Kedarnath pilgrimage purpose have been booked for the summit. For these five days, the pilgrims can only reach the shrine through the trekking route. Notably, the helicopter services to Kedarnath from Phata, Sirsi and Guptkashi remained suspended for the past few months due to the heavy rainfall. But as the rainy spell stopped in the beginning of September, the services resumed and a large number of pilgrims started availing the heli service for the darshan of the revered Kedarnath. The heli companies said that the pilgrims who had booked seats in the choppers for these five days would avail this service again from September 12.
