The Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ directed the officials concerned of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) and associated agencies to finish the installation work of sheds in shops of Paltan Bazaar area soon unlike the other pending Smart City projects. He conducted an inspection of the ongoing work of installation of sheds in Paltan Bazaar on Tuesday along with MLA Khajan Das. He directed the officials concerned to ensure all the details about the respective shops are inscribed on sheds in Hindi in order to make it easier for everybody to read them. He also directed the officials to fill the potholes in Darshani market immediately as it has been causing trouble to commuters. He said that there are several pending works under DSCL which have taken way too long to complete than it actually should and the officials should now focus on completing the projects as soon as possible without causing any unnecessary delay while ensuring the use of quality products in construction.
It is pertinent to mention here that the mayor had recently alleged several issues regarding the quality of material and financial aspects in the construction works of Smart City projects. He even wrote to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami requesting him to order an investigation in the matter. He said that he will raise his voice on the matter again if the officials concerned continue to delay the work unnecessarily.
