Gangotri MLA and senior BJP leader Gopal Rawat succumbed at a private hospital in Dehradun where he had been undergoing treatment for a serious ailment.
Governor Baby Rani Maurya, chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat, BJP State president Madan Kaushik, former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, senior Congress leader and ex-CM Harish Rawat along with all cabinet ministers expressed grief at the demise of the MLA who was quite popular among the public.
They said that Rawat’s demise is an irreparable loss to the people of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand and the BJP.
