In latest news from Uttarakhand, the portals of the revered Gangotri shrine will reopen ritualistically on May 10, marking the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, after the six-month winter break. The date of portal reopening was fixed on the auspicious occasion of Navratri in line with the tradition being followed for thousands of years. The shrine will reopen at 12.25 pm. Notably, the portals of Kedarnath shrine are slated to reopen at 7 am on May 10 and the portals of Badrinath shrine are to reopen at 6 am on May 12.
