In latest Uttarakhand news, the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University, in a major blow, has terminated affiliation of 10 private degree colleges, including DAB College and DBS College, two biggest colleges in Garhwal. The de-affiliation decision taken at the executive committee meeting of the university has been conveyed to the Union education ministry and the State government. As per the decision taken by vice chancellor of the university, the de-affiliation decision would be enforced from the academic session 2023-24. The university gave affiliation to these colleges from July 1 2022 to June 30 2023. The students who have been studying in these colleges would write examination and acquire degrees from the university. These colleges include DAB College Dehradun, DPS (PG) College Dehradun, SGRR (PG) College Dehradun, DWT College Dehradun, MKP (PG) College Dehradun and MPG College Mussoorie.
