In latest news from Uttarakhand, the commissioner Garhwal division, Vinay Shankar Pandey while presiding over a meeting convened to monitor the preparatory works being done for the Char Dham Yatra and the Hemkund Sahib Yatra slated to begin in April directed the officials concerned to complete the pilgrimage preparations at the earliest. He stressed on full-fledged participation of all departments so as to facilitate smooth and better arranged yatras this time. The officers apprised the commissioner of the progress made in the preparation thus far. Aside from the district magistrates and the police top brass of the Garhwal districts, officers of a number of departments, including PWD, transport, health, electricity, food supply, drinking water and BRO, were present.
