Directorate of Research, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar hosted the third annual meeting of the Research Council under the chairmanship of the vice-chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan. The chief guest was the VC of Kumaun University, Nainital D S Rawat. Sharing his experiences, Rawat said that both money and determination are needed to achieve goals. He emphasised the importance of scientists effectively publishing high-quality research papers, developing innovative products and commercialising technologies for societal benefit. Chauhan suggested that scientists focus on idea, innovation and strategy while stressing the importance of patents, publications and making efforts to commercialise patents. He urged entrepreneurs to open outlets for Mandua Lassi, a product developed by the university. He also urged researchers to publish high-quality research papers with an NAAS rating of 8 or above.
The scientists- involved in ongoing ICAR projects, recognised as the best centres under the AICRP scheme- were felicitated. Besides, S K Verma was also presented with the Radha Krishnan Best Teacher Award for his contributions to research and teaching.
