GBPUAT begins 2nd AI FDP for teaching, research

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) commenced the second edition of its five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Artificial Intelligence for Teachers: From Fundamental Concepts to Practical Applications.’ The programme, being held from August 3 to 7, is organised by the university’s Faculty Development Centre.

Inaugurating it, the vice-chancellor, Shivendra Kumar Kashyap highlighted AI’s growing role in higher education, research and extension activities. “AI has the potential to bring qualitative improvements in teaching and learning,” he said and urged the faculty members to adopt AI-based tools responsibly to enhance academic excellence, research productivity and innovation.

Among those who attended the inaugural session included the deans, directors, heads of departments and faculty members from various colleges of the university. The coordinator of the Faculty Development Centre, J  P Purwar informed that the five-day training aims to equip faculty members with practical knowledge of AI tools for teaching, content development, research, data management and academic administration. “It includes expert lectures, live demonstrations and hands-on training sessions to help participants effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence into higher education,” he added.
