GBPUAT launches international GIAN course

The international course under Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) funded by the Union Ministry of Education was launched by the department of Soil and Water Conservation Engineering under the College of Technology of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT). This five-day course, based on the subject, ‘Industrial Wastewater Management towards Sustainable and Safe Environment’, will conclude on 25 April.
A total of 50 from all over the country participated in the programme and 28 of them were from outside the university. Besides, 32 per cent of the participants were women. This course includes lectures, tutorials and industrial visits.
Senior environmental engineer at Washington State Department of Ecology, USA, and professor at Washington State University, Vijay Kubsad in his keynote address shared modern technologies and global experiences in industrial wastewater treatment, recycling, and pollution control with the participants. Among others present was the dean of the College of Technology, S S Gupta.
