GBPUAT must maintain its distinctive identity, says new VC

A number of events were organised at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, to welcome and felicitate the newly appointed vice-chancellor, Prof Shivendra Kumar Kashyap on Tuesday. In his address, he stressed on the university maintaining its distinctive identity from other universities.  “We are capable of great work and will reach new heights in the coming days. Under the Land Grant Model, teaching, research and extension are inseparable, and through this, we must serve the society and keep our flag flying high at the state, national and international levels. This is what we must strive at,” he said.

He also said that a strong work culture develops only when everyone works together in a team spirit. “We must embrace transparency, punctuality, accountability and a positive attitude. Each individual must treat the institution like family,” he said, adding that it must set new standards of excellence at the national and international levels through a blend of quality education, advanced research and the integration of modern technologies.  

He stated that programmes related to increasing farmers’ income, agricultural innovation and rural development would be prioritised, thereby enhancing the university’s role in society.
