General OBC employees demand Forward Castes Commission in U’khand

The demand for setting up a forward castes commission has started gathering momentum in Uttarakhand. This issue dominated the meeting of the Uttarakhand General OBC employees association held on Friday. The meeting of the powerful umbrella organisation of general and OBC employees of the state was chaired by the president of the association Deepak Joshi and coordinated by the general secretary Virendra Singh Gusain. All the district level office bearers of the association took part in the meeting which was held in virtual mode.
Joshi said that apart from forward castes commission, discussion on restoring the old practice of making the first post in the roster of direct recruitment for general candidates and removal of the system of the reservation in the promotions in government jobs were also held in the meeting. The office bearers demanded that the state should pass an act on the lines of neighbouring UP in this regard. It was agreed upon that all these issues should be brought into the notice of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and chief secretary of the state.
In the meeting it was also decided that the resignation offer extended by the general secretary of the association Virendra Singh Gusain should be accepted. The office bearers asked the vice president D S Sariyal to discharge duties of general secretary till the election of new general secretary is done in the next meeting.
