Girls outshine boys in class X, XII results of U’khand Board

Girl students again outsmarted boys in the results of class X and XII board results declared by Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) on Monday. In both these classes there was a considerable difference in pass percentage of boys and girls. The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat released the much awaited result at Ramnagar on the day.
In the class XII examination, a total of 1,11688 students were registered and out of them out of total 92,296 students cleared the examinations which accounted for an overall pass percentage of 83.63 per cent. In this examination the pass percentage of girls was 85.38 per cent as compared to the pass percentage of 79.74 secured by the boys.
In class X, a total of 1,27,895 students had appeared in the examination out of whom 99,091 were able to clear the examination. The overall pass percent of class X was 77.47. Girls with the pass percentage of 84.06 outscored the boys with a big margin as boys could manage a pass percentage of only 71.12 in class X results.
In class X, Mukul Silswal of Subhash Inter college Tholdhar Tehri secured first rank with 99 per cent marks while in class XII Diya Rajput of SVMIC, Mayapur Haridwar was first in the merit with 97 per cent marks.
Speaking on the occasion of release of the result at the UVSP, Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the state government would felicitate the meritorious students. The chairman of UVSP RK Kunwar, secretary Neeta Tiwari were present on the occasion. The Uttarakhand board examinations were conducted between March 28 to April 19 in 1,333 examination centres. The assessment of answer sheets of the students was done from April 25 to May 9.
