Global Investors Summit: Educational institutions in Doon to remain closed on Dec 8 & 9
State secretariat to also remain closed today

The State government has decided to keep the State secretariat closed on Friday, December 8. Educational institutions in Dehradun will also be closed on Friday and Saturday. These decisions have been taken in view of the Global Investors Summit-2023 being held on December 8 and 9 in Dehradun.
In an order the secretary general administration department Vinod Kumar Suman said that the decision of a holiday on Friday has been taken on the demand of the Uttarakhand secretariat association. He said that the secretariat will now remain open on Saturday December 16 to compensate for the holiday given on December 8. The Uttarakhand secretariat association has demanded that in view of the traffic restrictions imposed due to the Global Investors Summit -2023 and the fact that a large number of officers and employees are deployed in the Summit, the government should declare holiday on the inaugural day of the summit.
The district administration of Dehradun has also decided to keep all the educational institutes in Municipal Corporation of Dehradun and Raipur, Sahaspur, Vikasnagar and Doiwala blocks closed for two days on Friday (December 8) and Saturday (December 9). The decision has been taken to prevent hassles to students due to the restrictions in traffic for the summit
