GMVN guesthouse booking for yatra  crosses Rs 8 cr

In latest news from Doon, the State tourism and culture minister Satpal Maharaj exuded confidence that given the rush for Char Dham yatra registration this year, the number of pilgrims might surpass that of last year which stood at 56.31 lakh. He further said that the pilgrims have so far made bookings for worth Rs 8.05 crore since February 22 till now for the GMVN guest houses located on the yatra routes.

Registration for the devotees started on  April 15 and so far, a total of 1489441 pilgrims have registered themselves, including 273691 for Gangotri, 249864 for Yamunotri, 512976 for Kedarnath, 429949 for Badrinath and 22961 for Hemkund Sahib.
A state- level control room has been made operational at Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board headquarters in Dehradun and this operates daily from 7 am to 10 pm.
