The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has alleged that the BJP government is engaged in distribution of mining leases and other activities clandestinely in gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). He claimed that he has information that the files of these works are being cleared on back date on insistence from CM’s office. On a stern note, Godiyal warned that the Congress government would order an inquiry on all such cases and strict action would be taken against the politicians, officers and employees involved. The PCC president was interacting with the media persons at the state headquarters of the Congress party here on Friday. He said that apart from violation of MCC these activities are a deceit with the people of the state.
The PCC president also questioned the laxity shown by the state government in the safety of the students and other citizens of the state residing in war ravaged Ukraine.
“The situation in Ukraine didn’t develop overnight. From the last 15 days this was being apprehended and the students and other stranded there had requested for their safe return but the government was sleeping. It Is very unfortunate that the Uttarakhand government is still not aware about the number of the people presently living in Ukraine,’’ he said.
Godiyal said that the Congress party had brought the situation to the notice of the Uttarakhand government but it adopted a very insensitive approach on it. “ The chief minister of Uttarakhand is taking review meetings on the performance of BJP candidates with leaders in his residence but he has no time for a meeting on those stranded in Ukraine,’’ he quipped.
