Taking strong exception to the statement of the State police that the parents of Ankita Bhandari should provide proof of the involvement of the VIP in the case, the former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal said that it shows the motive of the government. In a statement the Congress leader said that the parents of Ankita have alleged that a senior functionary of the BJP is the VIP involved in the case. He said that it is very unfortunate that the police are demanding proof from the parents of the victim. Godiyal said that investigation in the case is being done by the police and it should collect the evidence and necessary proof. The Congress leader said that the Congress party is consistently demanding that the very sensitive case involving high profile people should be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for investigation. He added that a sitting judge should monitor the investigation.
