Godiyal seeks PM Modi’s response on 10 important issues concerning Uttarakhand

Ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has sought his response on ten important issues of the State including the status of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the Ankita Bhandari murder case. Interacting with the media persons at Rajiv Bhawan here on Monday, the PCC president said that questions are being continuously raised on the involvement of senior BJP leaders in the Ankita Bhandari murder case. He said that the status of the CBI inquiry in the case is still unclear even after three months of investigation by the agency.

Godiyal said that the PM should tell the people of the State about the steps being taken to reduce ever increasing cases of human-wildlife conflict.

He said that the PM in 2017 had said that the ‘both the water and the youth of the mountain will now be used for the benefit of the area’. He said that the PM should inform the people about the schemes which were effectively implemented for the purpose. Godiyal said that the future of youth of the state is in peril.

Targeting the State government for a series of paper leak cases, the PCC president said that the State is getting defamed for this. On the issue of the regularisation of UPNL workers, Godiyal said that the State government is trying to evade its responsibility despite the orders of the Supreme Court and High Court.

Godiyal said that 886 schools have closed during the BJP rule which is an issue of grave concern.  Questioning the rationale behind the opening of 55 new liquor shops in the State, Godiyal said that it appears that mining and liquor sale are the only options left for the BJP government.

The PCC president also cornered the government for deteriorating law and order situation in the State and said that Uttarakhand has become leading state in crime against women. He said that the government should ensure that adequate supply of LPG is made available in the State for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra.

Chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni, Mahila Congress president Jyoti Rautela, chairman of the ex-servicemen wing of the State Congress Ram Ratan Negi and Abhinav Thapar accompanied Godiyal.
