Godiyal targets MCD for double standards on banners & posters

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun
Accusing the administration of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) of partisan action on the issue of banners and posters of political parties, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president has said that the MCD is playing in the hands of the ruling BJP.
Godiyal said that the BJP workers have put up banners and posters right from the Dehradun airport to all parts of the Dehradun city to welcome their national president Nitin Nabin. He said that the MCD had removed the banners and posters put up by the Congress workers when one of the senior leaders of the party had visited the State about two months ago.
He alleged that while the ruling party has complete freedom to put up banners of its events, the officials forcibly remove banners put up by the opposition for its events.
Godiyal said, “We are keeping a close eye on officials working for power. This double standard will not be tolerated.”
He said that all parties should be treated equally in a democracy. He said the public is clearly seeing through this double standard.
