A delegation of the officers, employees, teachers’ coordination committee met the chief executive officer of the State Health Authority (SHA), Anand Shrivastava on Tuesday. In the meeting the discrepancies in the State Government Health Scheme (SGHS) were discussed and the delegation submitted the demands of the employees.

The spokesman of the coordination committee (the joint forum of different employee federations), Arun Pandey said that the delegation demanded that the employees covered under the scheme should be provided the benefit of cashless OPDs in the hospitals. As of now the cashless facility is available only after admission in the IPD and for OPD and other expenses, the employees have to seek reimbursement from their departments.

Shrivastava told the delegation that a proposal in this regard has already been sent to the state administration and assured that necessary action on this demand will be taken soon. The employees also demanded that a time limit for the reimbursement of their medical bills should be fixed. The delegation wanted that the cashless facility should also be provided at the IMA blood bank. The delegation demanded that only 50 per cent deduction than stipulated should be made from the pensioners and they should be given an option to reenter the scheme.

The CEO assured that positive action will be taken on the demand for including the employees and retired personnel of the municipal bodies in the SGHS. Shrivastava assured that a WhatsApp number will be provided on which the employees can register their complaints.
