Golden period under UPA only for Congress leaders- BJP

Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claims during his Uttarakhand visit, the Bharatiya Janata Party has asked why the people voted the UPA out of power if the time under Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister was a golden period. The BJP state spokesman Suresh Joshi suggested that the Congress should first implement the promises in its election manifesto in the states where it has its government.
The BJP spokesman said that on the one hand Gandhi raises questions at Hindus and Hindutva while on the other hand he tries to be a Hindu by convenience by taking a dip in the Ganga. At the same time, their party leader talks behind closed doors of establishing a Muslim university. “Rahul is the Congress supremo so why doesn’t he ask the party’s state governments to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 500, give five lakh jobs and fulfill other promises made in the party’s manifesto for the Uttarakhand assembly polls? As far as calling PM Narendra Modi a king is concerned, he should recall that such a system was in place during the term of the UPA government when even the then Prime Minister used to stand in front of 10 Janpath. King and prince are posts in the Congress where the Gandhi surname is a guarantee for becoming the party’s national president,” said Joshi. Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s statement about the duration under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh being a golden period, the BJP spokesman said that it was indeed a golden period but only for Congress leaders who were shown their place by the people of India in the 2014 elections.
