Many persons visiting the B D Pandey government hospital Nainital these days get pleasantly surprised with the transformation the only government hospital of the Lake town has gone through in recent times. In the last couple of years the hospital has equipped itself with modern equipment and the facilities here have increased substantially. The credit for this positive transformation in the government medical facility goes to the Principal Medical Superintendent (PMS) Dr K S Dhami and his team. Locals inform that the transformation started about two years ago when Dr Dhami took charge of the hospital. He set up an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital. Works like reconstruction of buildings and other modern facilities occurred. A new generator was also installed in the hospital. “ This hospital caters to dozens of villages including Nainital. It has changed for the better recently. Earlier we had to go to Haldwani in the absence of facilities here,’’ said one local.
The team of Dr Dhami includes senior physician Dr M S Dugtal, Dr Anirudh Gangola, other doctors, nursing staff and other employees.
