Government recognition sought for Garh Bhoj Diwas

Following the successful organisation of Garh Bhoj Diwas on October 7, the campaign’s founder Dwarika Prasad Semwal and the event’s convenor in Dehradun, Arvind Darmoda met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and requested him to pass a proposal in the cabinet to accord government recognition to the Garh Bhoj Diwas. Information about Uttarakhand’s traditional foods should also be displayed on the annual calendar published by the State government, they requested. The CM assured that efforts will be made to extend the focus on traditional foods. He commended the Jaadi Sansthan for taking the event from the village to the national and international levels, stating that it is a successful platform for presenting the State’s traditional food culture to the world. Darmoda informed that Garh Bhoj Diwas was observed in 16,000 sites this year including schools, colleges, higher educational institutions and by Uttarakhand natives in Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi and Gujarat apart from USA, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Finland and Germany.
