Governor approves 10 % job reservation for statehood activists
State government committed to developing U’khand as envisioned by activists: Dhami

Governor Gurmit Singh has accorded his approval to the bill facilitating 10 per cent reservation to statehood activists in State government services in Uttarakhand. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to the governor for granting his approval. He said that the State government will never forget the struggles and sacrifices of the statehood activists. The Statehood activists will always be respected and the government will accord top priority to their facilities, he said.
Dhami said that the State government had taken the decision to provide 10 per cent reservation to statehood activists and their dependents in government jobs. A bill to this effect was also passed in the Vidhan Sabha and sent to the governor. The governor has granted his approval to the bill, which has fulfilled a long standing demand of the statehood activists, Dhami said.
The CM further said that the State government has also taken other decisions for the welfare of statehood activists including increasing their pension and according their pension to their dependents after their death. The State government is committed to developing Uttarakhand as envisioned by the statehood activists, the CM added.
