Governor exhorts women members of Raj Bhawan family to explore hidden talents

Gurmit Kaur, the wife of governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh, organised a family welfare programme at the Raj Bhawan here on Saturday. She interacted with all women members of the Raj Bhawan extended family during the programme. The governor also participated in the programme. This is the first such programme held in the Raj Bhawan following the initiative taken by Kaur in which the wives of all Raj Bhawan personnel along with the female personnel participated. Kaur and Singh said that all the officers and employees along with their families are members of the Raj Bhawan family. They said that any problem they experience should be shared with this family, adding that all possible effort will be undertaken to resolve the problem.
The governor also interacted with women members of the Raj Bhawan family and talked to them about their interests and skills. He said that the skills and talents of women should be encouraged. Singh further said that a roadmap will be prepared and other activities will be planned to enable the women to do better in the spheres of their interest. Women are the strongest members of families in Uttarakhand, he said. The governor also exhorted all the women present on the occasion to realise their hidden potential and work in the field of their interest. Additional secretary to the governor, Swati S Bhadauriya, finance controller Tripti Srivastav and others were also present on the occasion.
