Governor flags off BRO’s multi dimensional expedition

The governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh flagged off the ‘Multi Dimensional Expedition’ of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Tuesday at Raj Bhawan. The expedition has been taken up by the BRO to commemorate its 63rd foundation day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that the BRO plays an important role in the economic and social development of Uttarakhand. He said that every possible help would be provided to the organization for overall development of border areas. The governor interacted with the members of the expedition. He said that by undertaking the expedition the BRO has shown a determination which should be appreciated.  The governor opined that such programmes and determination strengthens the border areas. Wishing the members of the expedition the governor asked them to enjoy every moment of it. Organised on the occasion of 63rd foundation day of the BRO, the theme of the expedition is National integration and nation building.  Multifarious activities such as trekking to Panchachuli summit, river rafting in Ganga, run from Delhi to Roorkee and cycle trip from Dehradun- Chandigarh- New Delhi. One of the objectives of the expedition is to associate youth with the BRO. The Brigadier of BRO Rajiv Srivastava, Colonel Somendra Chaudhary, Col Manish Kapil, Col Jayant Vanare, Lt Col Suresh Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
