Governor pays obeisance at Hemkund Sahib

The Governor Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh visited Hemkund Sahib in Chamoli on Wednesday to pay his obeisance. He offered prayers for the prosperity and well-being of the state at the shrine. The chairman of Hemkund Sahib Management Trust Narendrajit Singh Bindra, Gurudwara manager Sewa Singh and officials from the district administration welcomed the governor on his arrival.

Governor interacted with the members of the Gurdwara Management Committee and extended his best wishes to all the devotees at Hemkund. He highlighted the valuable lessons of simplicity, humility, compassion and service taught by Guru Nanak Dev. He also expressed appreciation for the infrastructure development work at Hemkund, specifically mentioning the well-built footpath and helipad for the convenience of pilgrims. The Governor expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying the foundation stone for the construction of a ropeway in Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib, stating that the ropeway will make the journey to Hemkund more pleasant in the future.
