The director general of police Abhinav Kumar on Tuesday announced the names of 26 police officials of various sections of the department who will be felicitated on the occasion of Republic Day by the governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh for their service.
Out of these officials, three officials will receive the Governor’s Meritorious Service Medal named the deputy superintendent of police of Champawat district Vipin Chandra Pant, the platoon commander of chief minister’ security Gajpal Singh Rawat and the officer Dhani Lal of 46th Corps PAC Haridwar.
The DGP has chosen four officials for the Excellence in Service award- inspector Ajay Kumar Rawat of Police Headquarters, traffic inspector Shyam Lal of Rudraprayag district, sub inspector Gobind Singh Mehta from Nainital district and additional sub inspector Arjun Singh from Tehri district. Besides this, 19 police personnel from various districts will be felicitated with Meritorious Service Award, as per the DGP’s announcement.
