Governor visits Badrinath, offers puja

The Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Rtd) visited Shri Badrinath Dham on Saturday and offered prayers to Lord Badrivishal. Stating that this revered shrine emanates spiritual grandeur, he said that he had prayed for the happiness, peace and prosperity for the people of the state as well as the country.
On the Governor’s arrival at Badrinath Dham, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) vice-president Rishi Prasad Sati and the chief executive officer Sohan Singh Rangad (PCS) welcomed him. He appreciated the arrangements made by the committee for a smooth darshan. Later, he said that the Dham is a major centre of faith for devotees from all over the country and the world and the arrangements of darshan here are commendable.
“The Char Dham Yatra is the cultural and spiritual identity of Uttarakhand and the government and administration are continuously working to facilitate maximum convenience of the pilgrims,” he added.
