The State government has directed all the departments to complete the process of promotions of the employees eligible under the benefit of one time relaxation in the norms. In a letter to all the secretaries, commissioners, heads of departments and district magistrates, the additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan said that the State government on December 29, 2023 had notified a relaxation (amendment) regulation -2023 according to which the eligible employees will be given benefit of relaxation in promotion norms between July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. The relaxation will be given to the employees only when all their senior employees have got promoted so that there is no disparity in cadre management. In his letter, the ACS said that it is observed that in many departments the process of promotion is being delayed. He said that a time of less than one and half month is remaining for promotion on relaxation of norms and eligible employees should not remain deprived from promotions.
Expressing happiness at the order of the ACS, the president of the State employees’ joint federation, Arun Pandey said that the promotion process of the employees should not get delayed. He demanded that the State government should take strict action against the departments showing negligence in the process of promotion.
