The State government has put a ban on the strike of the government employees for a period of six months. Issuing the order of the ban, secretary Shailesh Bagauli said that the provision of the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) has been evoked in the state.
The order of ban on strikes will remain enforced in the State till June 24 next year. It is pertinent to mention that the state government had enforced a ban on strike by its employees in July this year which had ended recently.
The ban order assumes significance because it is generally observed that the employees tend to put pressure on the government for their demands when the elections are near.
