The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the state government is fully prepared to tackle the third wave of the Covid-19.
Responding to the discussions under rule 58, Rawat said that the state has more than 800 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) beds which according to the guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) are sufficient to deal with the child patients during the peak of the wave.
He said that the state has augmented medical equipment and facilities in the last two years and has recruited 2100 doctors and other staff.
