Govt has reduced the time period of Kumbh- PCC president
The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said that the BJP government has reduced the time period of Kumbh in Haridwar from four months to only one month and has undertaken no development works in Haridwar for Kumbh.
Talking to the media persons at the state headquarters of Congress party here on Monday, the PCC president said that the Congress government had included Dev Prayag in the Kumbh area but the BJP government has not even included the entire Haridwar district for Kumbh works. He also took a dig at the BJP for changing its policy on Kumbh with change of Chief Minister (CM). He said that the new CM has kept the guidelines of Covid-19 in the side and has reversed the decision of his predecessor on the issue. “It is for the people in power in the state to make a decision to follow the union government’s guidelines on Covid-19 or not,’’ he said.
Taking a dig at the BJP for changing the face of the chief minister, the PCC president said that it would have been better had the decision to change the CM was taken before the budget session. “This was the last budget of the BJP government and if the CM was changed earlier, he could have prepared a roadmap for himself but now has nothing in his hand,’’ he quipped.
The PCC president said that the people of the state had given a huge mandate to the BJP in the assembly elections of 2017 but no promise made by the party was fulfilled. The prices are at their peak and the corruption is everywhere. The people of the state have made up their mind to change the government in the next assembly elections, he claimed.
