Govt planning to suppress my voice: Harish Rawat

A day after he was asked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court to record a voice sample in the sting CD case of 2016, former chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat said that the government wants to suppress his voice. Rawat who took to social media to express his views said that it is really amusing that CBI would test his voice. He said that the CBI has talked for hours with him and must have the video. “It is not a question of a test of voice but is about suppression of the voice,’’ he said.

 “Remember the more you will pressurise me the more assertive I will become. I follow the path of truth and want to tell the youngsters that faith is the power which can habitat a devastated place,’’ he said.  The former CM said that the people who are intent on stifling the voice of democracy can be dealt with resistance and struggle only.

In his post Rawat also said that he wants to visit Joshimath to spend a night with the people there who are suffering from the menace of land subsidence.

 On Monday, the CBI court ordered that the voice samples of Harish Rawat, Harak Singh Rawat and MLAs Madan Bisht and Umesh Sharma should be collected in connection with the sting CD case which rocked the politics of the State in the year 2016.
